The group's purpose is to facilitate life transformation that improves all of our relationships: with God, with people, and with things. This transformation comes through a relationship with Jesus Christ and involves an ongoing process of personal spiritual growth. People who would like to experience such transformation should join the group. This Meetup group delves into Christianity not from a liturgical or ritualistic perspective but rather with an emphasis on the practical, dynamic, life-changing benefits of knowing Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. The discussion is sponsored by Brier Creek Community Church (www.bcccofcma.org), a multiracial church plant whose mission is to be a highly relational church, accepting, forgiving, and loving all to see life transformation through Jesus Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17). The format of the Meetup meetings involves presentations followed by discussions. Come join the discussion as we grow together, using the book "Experiencing God" as the basis of our Bible study. Books will be provided.
Tonight's Bible study covers Unit 5 ("God Speaks, Part I"), the last part of Day 5 ("God Speaks Through Prayer") of the book "Experiencing God" by Henry Blackaby, Richard Blackaby, and Claude King. The memory verse for Unit 5 is John 14:21: "He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason that you do not hear is that you do not belong to God." The theme for Day 5 is this: "Prayer is a relationship, not just a religious activity."
